It's easier if you assume that these are people who have never received any kind of positive reinforcement ever in their lives.
There's also the fun part where all your chats gets released in a court case or the AI company gets bought out by facebook and they immediately sell all your personal chat logs to advertisers

That's another example. People are just people. If you interact with them, you'll be shocked to find that most of them have just as complicated relationship with the world as you do. You don't need to be afraid that everyone views you as a monster because of your gender. They don't. They won't trust you initially cause we live in a time of low trust (most interactions you have are people trying to get one over on you, because of the anonymity of the interaction). All that it takes to get over that is more interactions with the same people. Then you'll be more confident in other interactions with strangers going forward.
