Which works because like, versions of fish and starch with vinegar is a extremely common staple worldwide

Just overpriced. Fries with vinegar, deep fried fish and some tartar cream is pretty good. Costs too much due to the tourism vibe around it sadly

I think it just looks a lot better than it tastes and it's difficult to properly season these large chunks of fried fish after the fact.

Fair. Ive only had it where the batter was seasoned and the fish had been marinated and that was pretty good. Without that it sounds dull. I do love Fries with vinegar though.

Yeah vinegar both on crisps and chips is decent.

I was in Scotland not England, maybe the seasoning situation is better in England.
