It can not be overstated how important the Great Firewall was to China's growth and stability today. Imagine how splintered and chaotic China would be if Facebook, Google and Twitter were free to infect their population with Western propaganda.

Hexbear is likely blocked because of some unaffiliated crypto currency scam a few years ago that had hex in the name.

Yeah. I used to be really anti-censorship, but now I'm more "no investigation, no right to speak." Which means I do a lot of not speaking 'cause I have much to learn still.
It’s right to be extremely skeptical of censorship but I think we’ve fully tested at this point whether there should be censorship of some kind. The answer being yes. Covid really put it to the test.
