Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

I'm just salty that you can't romance Veronica or Christine or even let the two of them know how the other is doing. I just wanted the both of them to be happy (。╯︵╰。)

Ah right!

I thought that Veronica was lesbian, but I couldn't 100% remember if that was corrrect, so I didn't include it in my other post.

Now, we are getting into fan canon territory at this point but:

https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/84272

Tale of Two Wastelands (FO3+NV) modmod, allows an alternate ending for Veronica.

~~Adds Christine as a fully realized companion/follower.~~

Erp, that one's deprecated and has been rolled into this modpack, that adds a bunch of DLC characters as full companions.

Christine

... If you speak to her in the vicinity of Veronica, there will be some special dialogue and a unique perk granted

I've not actually used these (aw fuck, here I go playing New Vegas again), but these may scratch your itch.

Also... there are a fair deal of romance overhaul /expansion mods, I don't know if any of them do anything specifically with Courier + Veronica or Veronica + Christine off the top of my head.

And finally... there are a series of essentially ... lets say XXX rated and/or fairly to highly problematic mods for New Vegas on LoversLab.

It... might be possible to configure them to work with these other mods, or they might just do something somewhat analagous, or... they might grant you the ability to put Veronica into a breast milking contraption, while you are busy crafting a cure for the STD you picked up by raw dogging a fiend who did not succesfully ambush you.

Hazard Suit On before you look into any of those mods lol.

Veronica is an explicit lesbian who used to date Christine, you just can't romance her or any of the companions.

And yes, I know there are mods, but it's hard for mods to be good enough that they don't subtract from the base experience. In a game like Skyrim, the bar for integrating content is lower because of how compartmentalized everything is (and the writing, while consistently not horrible, isn't that great). With New Vegas, there is a lot more to fuck up, so I'm hesitant to add mods for fear that it'll make the game worse (I've certainly experienced such mods, even in Fallout 4 and Skyrim modding scenes). The biggest thing I've learned about modding is which mods not to install in the first place, and for New Vegas that's most of them.

Now I want to go back and play through Mass Effect again. There are so few games where you can set your friends up with each other. It's usually "the player shacks up with one and the others remain all alone".
