not disagreeing that some of the hot takes are pretty out there... but I try to feed my inner lefty from as many sources as possible and a non-zero number of posts lead to interesting articles, regardless of the sometimes suspect commentary.

They can make all those takes in civilized places...

Like, if you run into mods you don't like: block their communities.

You run into heavy handed admins that enforce stupid rules across all their communities, you just block every community on their instance at once instead of one at a time.

This is especially helpful for people who browse /all because those problematic instances tend to be full of people who want to mod 27 different communities and won't stop making new ones.

It comes off as spam to a lot of people, which is why an instance block is valuable. It just stops people from accidentally going somewhere on the fediverse that they don't want to fuck with.
