Complaining about tofu being bland is the equivalent of saying that a blank canvas is boring.

Saying you hate tofu is such a self own. It is one of and maybe the most versatile food of all time. It is cheap. It's macros are at parity with chicken breast. It keeps well AND is much safer (food safety and healthwise) than meat.

I can confirm as someone going from eating meat with every meal to vegan, basic ass fried tofu tastes better than most restaurant meat these days.

What is even wilder is that the US grows a lot of soybeans, and the ideal target for MAGA would probably be a soybean farmer.

the meat eaters will refuse the beans until we're all eating bugs. angery

Meat eaters don't refuse beans, most* people don't consider beans to be comparable to meat. American Chili (Beans and Meat) is one of the most yeehaw epic bacon things of all time. Most* people don't think about nutrition at all beyond calories, or doctor (internet) recommended dietary needs and/or restrictions.

*obvious caveat western/us context

Texans would object to the beans usually. I don't. One time I passed off vegan chili as beef based to my family. It was funny.

The number of times Americans have told me "it isn't chili if it has beans in it" bazinga ...

No, it was a general lament. Many Americans have said this in my presence, quoting Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory, but also believing it earnestly.

I tried to make chili “the right way” once, by rehydrating and blending up various dried chilis. Unfortunately it sucked, the pouch at the grocery store tastes better.

Could be I just did it wrong though.

world economic forum/davos, they suck but the anti-WEF people have some top tier reactions to them, like "15 minute city = concentration camp" and "goberment gonna make us eat bugs"

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 12 points 3 days ago

They're so fucking asinine, I mean, these ding dongs actually think the WEF is a new world order communist org

[–] Trying2KnowMyself@hexbear.net 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

The World Economic Forum promotes eating meat.
