Is it real though? He said he was dealing with them in the vaguest way possible with no facts about who he was dealing with or what for, and then Iran said they weren't dealing with him. I'm not sure I would believe anything he says.
Yeah I think you have the right take. Why the hell else would he be secretive about what it is? He brags his ass off every time someone gives his Nazi ass a gift. Normally with a photo of him with it.
He's lying about receiving a bribe as justification.
The whole thing is blatant bullshit.
The post he made on Truth Social was just market manipulation. There's a bunch of news stories about it; people made a sudden flurry of big bets on oil futures minutes before the post went up. Iran immediately told everyone the claim was bullshit, no one had tried to talk to them for days. Now he's being pressed for an explanation and he's doubling down by making up this lie about Iran sending him a bribe or a peace offering or something. It's all just lies on lies.

What is real is his desperate need to keep the stock market from crashing - he will say anything to do that.
Yeah I don't see how it would even be a "textbook definition." This could have been anything and is purely speculation.
That said the U.S. defines giving (not receiving) aid or comfort to an enemy of the state as treason... So taking a bribe isn't giving them comfort. Removing sanctions on Iranian oil the other dayl could be giving them comfort, but that still wouldn't likely count.
More than likely if he's not just talking complete bullshit it means the CIA or someone reported they found a movement somewhere that they think they can give aid to and try to position in a certain way to take power while getting some kind of concessions like oil contracts.
Which looking at the history of what the CIA/US do with middle eastern countries over oil... Seems most likely.
