I'm 40. I haven't found full time work in a year. I might have to join. I don't want to lose my house. Nobody will miss me if I die overseas.

Dude start a bakery, become an internet lolcow, anything is better than getting ripped by a drone for the Epstein class.

yes, please come murder us in the global south for the fascist empire so you don't have to deal with your own government.

You wouldn't consider it without your media-induced sense of invulnerability. Nobody actually wants to die from shrapnel, or get a TBI. That's the reality of missile and drone warfare. You're not kicking down families' doors in Baghdad, Kyle. You either collect debtbux or perish. If you were serious, you wouldn't be hoping the AoR takes care of it for you. Stop being melodramatic when other people's lives are at stake. It's a genocide, not a "dangerous job". Solipsistic nonsense

At least you get a chance to frag officers

[–] Tylerdurdon@lemmy.world 3 points 20 hours ago

I will miss you, buddy

Did the same thing but I was 25. Now that Im in my forties I couldnt possibly have done the training that was asked of me. I was in Basic with a guy that was 40ish, he only kept up cause he was in phenomenal shape. Just know Ill miss you MisterNeon, good luck.

[–] MisterNeon@lemmy.world 4 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

I'm not in shape. I don't think I could survive basic training. I'm running out of options.

The most important thing is to just keep going. Always keep trying, even when you think you can’t.

[–] MisterNeon@lemmy.world 3 points 22 hours ago

I'm feeling really old. It's hard to keep trying and failing at my age. There are no jobs and I don't have anyone to lean on for financial support.

[–] sudoer777@lemmy.ml 1 points 18 hours ago

I don't have any advice but I'm sorry to hear that

There's quite a few non-murdering job roles in the military. You could ask a recruiter about those opportunities.

[–] ZeroHora@lemmy.ml 4 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago)

non-murdering jobs = helping others murder people/make the murderers comfortable
