All major religions have people doing stuff that is to the benefit of the higher-ups in the religion and is to the disadvantage to the common believer.

But you’re right, it also happens outside of religion, like with capitalism and billionaires vs the working class.

Religion is just a means to keep the plebs from revolting.

Haha yes. In the greater scheme of things it definitely is. The Christian higher-ups rake in way more money than they spend on charity. Churches are often exempt from taxes, so whatever they spend on charity would have been better spent if they simply paid their fair share to the community. Every cent they get is though lies and deceit. Charity is just a way to make themselves feel good and to uphold the image that they are Good Samaritans. Some individuals may be just that, but Christianity? Definitely no.
