Reindeers are better than people. Sven, don't you think that's true?

Sven is more of a Germanic name, in Siberia reindeer herders are definitely not speaking Germanic languages.

Poor Sven. I have a daughter and son and I thought the way sven was treated in part 2 was so shitty, like they almost went out of their way to say “fuck this man, this is a woman story” I love female centric movies but this one felt mean. He was fully supportive and trying to help and they ditched him, ignored him, treated him like he didn’t exist. And all he could do was take it cause if he complains he an asshole right?
Again I have a son as well, so I don’t like when a movie has to elevate one gender or person by stomping on the other.

Edit: mixed it up I meant Kristoff, Sven is the reindeer

I don't think I saw the second one. At least I don't remember it, but there was a time I got drunk and binged a bunch of disney movies so it might be buried in there somewhere.

But yeah that's not surprising. Media depictions of gender relations tend to be pretty terrible. I wish they could just depict both genders in a positive light instead of playing into this duality one male versus female.

Like, women's empowerment doesn't have to mean treating men like shit. Even the classic feminist philosophers didn't view it that way. But for some reason these past couple decades there's been this huge push to sort of invert the patriarchy instead of abolishing it.

I've tried pointing that out and explaining how egalitarianism means equal footing, but people just call me a redpill incel nice guy or whatever. I could say something along the lines of "This gender war is toxic and there's gotta be a better way" and they'll go "What gender war? There's no gender war! You're toxic for even thinking there's a gender war."

Sigh. I'm tired, boss...

It's a line from a song, the reindeer's name was Sven. But yes, I did think about that after I posted my comment...

And honestly even the reindeer herders in Scandinavia are probably mostly Saami, so it would be more accurate to use a Finnic name anyway...

Totally went over my head, sorry
