At this point in his career I don't think Bruce, his team, or even his listeners are all that invested in the quality of his new songs. To them his legacy is secure. For me, the first thing I think of when I hear his name now is the "meet in the middle" superbowl commercial he did a few years back about how we are all just too dang divided (it was an ad for jeep lol)

Hopefully in twenty years I'll be back to thinking "born to run" instead of "Obama podcast"

I never watch team sports or ads. I miss out on some real Americana stuff. I guess the workin' man wants The Boss to have another 10 mil (or whatever) in his pocket. Everybody needs walkin' around money. Or am I all wrong? Did he donate the money to charity? I'm going to google the details.

Vomit. I thought he was at least nominally to the left of center. I had no idea his politics were even worse than that.

Google was shit and it wasted my time.

  • I don't know how much Jeep paid him.
  • I don't know how much he donates to charity: yearly or in total. The results were contradictory.

There's a reason it stands out in my memory so starkly, hahaha

For some extra nauseating context, it aired during the superbowl two weeks after biden's inauguration lmao
