You're all missing the intent here. They're arguing that they're good friends of the US and it's unfair to say they did nothing. They're bragging about being imperial pawns, or whining about not getting their headpats. Either or.

99% of Euro outrage has been over finding out that their white club membership doesn't negate their vassal status and whining about how they want to go back to the good old days of murdering brown children together.

It's the same reason they turned Hitler into fascist Jesus - these tactics are only supposed to be used against the subhuman untermenschen, not turned inward on hwytes.
