I think other comments missed that the model is actually trans, thus making the poster ~~ironic or~~ the typical dumbass. And I know that she wanted to distance herself from her transness as stated in the Wikipedia article, but it's relevant to the post here.

[–] raspberriesareyummy@lemmy.world 3 points 14 hours ago

Haha! I had no idea who she was but I guessed right!

[–] Gonzako@lemmy.world 136 points 1 day ago (2 children)
[–] SoloCritical@lemmy.world 58 points 1 day ago (3 children)

This is a wild take lol and I sort of like it

[–] Lumisal@lemmy.world 38 points 1 day ago

It's just the ancient Greek take

[–] CluckN@lemmy.world 25 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It’s actual canon in Baki that Yujiro is so strong he sees every other human being as a, “woman” due to his overwhelming strength and masculinity.

[–] Stamau123@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago

that's fucking stupid

I love it

[–] ObviouslyNotBanana@piefed.world 7 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Isn't that more or less Andrew Tate's take though?

[–] SoloCritical@lemmy.world 39 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don’t know, he seems like a piece of shit so I never bothered to learn much about him.

[–] ObviouslyNotBanana@piefed.world 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I mean, same. I just know fragments of what has landed in my lap.

[–] RickyRigatoni@retrolemmy.com 9 points 1 day ago

And there are so many memes about him it's impossible to tell what he actually said and what people edit him to say as a joke.

[–] Akasazh@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago

I think Tate is way too insecure to admit being turned on by a trans person

[–] hovercat@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Sort of. He basically said, that as a guy, being attracted to someone AFAB that was extremely masculine, "Hulk Hogan with a pussy" being the direct quote, was gayer than being attracted to someone AMAB that was extremely feminine, "Megan Fox with a dick".

Which is hilarious because dude basically homophobe'd himself into "Trans women are women and trans men are men," which is usually the exact opposite thing that homophobes do. Usually they get hung up on the gender they were assigned at birth and are terrified that they would be considered gay based on that.

Yeah I did have a memory of something like that. His world view is wacked, damn.

[–] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This line of thinking (I know, it's a joke, I like to riff on jokes as if they're srs bsns) creates a unique scenario where I do think she's objectively beautiful, but at the same time she's not a woman because no curves

[–] flying_sheep@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Not if you interpret it as “sufficient but not necessary”.

anyone I'm into is a woman, but there are also women in not into

Set theory yo

[–] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 2 points 18 hours ago

Ah good point, doesn't have to be "sufficient and necessary".

[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 26 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

It’s got to be satire. Beautiful women have never stopped being in ads. Why make this comment for this specific post if it’s not satire.

Edit:

Richard Hanania (born August 28, 1985) is an American political scientist and right-wing online personality.[3][4] He is the founder and president of the think tank Center for the Study of Partisanship and Ideology (CSPI).[5][6][7] He has written for The Washington Post,[3] The New York TimesThe Atlantic,[6] and The Economist.[4][6] He wrote The Origins of Woke and publishes his newsletter on Substack.

Oh

[–] NENathaniel@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago

I believe it is indeed satire

[–] ObviouslyNotBanana@piefed.world 77 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah, I debated whether I should include it but tbh I think it would've lost its shitpost-factor and turned into political slop. I decided it was more a IYKYK situation.

That being said I appreciate it being added in the comments.

[–] fushuan@lemmy.blahaj.zone 18 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Maybe it was confusing, so just in case, by "making the post ironic or the typical dumbass" I was referring to the twitter post, not you.

Oh definitely not confusing. I just added my thoughts on the post! I was genuine in my appreciation of it being added to the comments.

[–] hector@lemmy.today 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This is why many of them hate trans and or gays, they are attracted then realize it. Maybe still are attracted after knowing.

Clearly their influencers are using them as a scapegoat of sorts. Otherizing them in bad faith anyway idk what you could call that not scagegoating perhaps.

[–] SeptugenarianSenate@leminal.space 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

it’s like a bait and switch where homophobia is tantamount to one’s internal sense of masculine heterosexuality, and the “trickster” to them in this instance has, in their always-active woman-objectifying-minds, discretely, but almost certainly malevolently, “switched genders” with the express purpose of trying to convince the particular male in question to consider the one thing that makes them more furious than any injustice they have ever experienced or witnessed: human’s capacity for the desire for anal insertion. it’s like the sphincter is a sacred sanctuary to them, and they have not yet become comfortable in their own body or mind, so the intense jealousy, coupled with fear of crossing the framework of taboo that they have been imbued with and accepted for themselves, is what is likely leading to the unpredictable but always neurotically aggressive reactions to such a “reveal” for this type of child-man, who has become over-sexualized-by-media-or-family, yet undereducated in core values, and with likely maladaptive internal principles/ideals to fill their place in order to protect their flimsy senses of self-worth that they continue to measure by simple means rather than sustainable, comprehensible, inclusive, or commendable metrics of “worth”

[–] halcyoncmdr@piefed.social 23 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Knowing absolutely nothing about the model... My first thought was that she was trans. Because the dipshits run into that all the time.

They make no effort to actually understand anything and just live off vibes and beliefs with no factual basis whatsoever. Not doing a basic Google search to look up the model and verify before posting like an idiot is par for the course.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 18 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Also because the kind of attractiveness that modeling likes is tall, lanky, and kinda gaunt and a lot of attractive trans women fall into that look.

[–] RBWells@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Delicate angelic androgynous beauty.

[–] fushuan@lemmy.blahaj.zone 19 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Apparently the post isn't from a dipshit, it's a sarcastic post to bait dipshits. Calm your anger lol.

Nope, was wrong.

[–] Agrivar@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Dude is a right-wing asshole, there's no chance this was sarcastic.

[–] fushuan@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 day ago

Yeah I was linked his Wikipedia page after writing this comment. In any case, this is a shitposts where we laugh at him, no point is showing anger here. He's not here.

[–] Schadrach@lemmy.sdf.org 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Isn't she the one who wanted to be cast as Princess Zelda that a surprising number of terminally online folks were super angry about because trans?

[–] fushuan@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Idk, I know her from Euphoria. She seems like a fine pick for Zelda tbh.

[–] mghackerlady@leminal.space 3 points 1 day ago

Me and like 90% of the other trans gamers I've talked to consider link and zelda a T4T power couple, she and some link looking trans man would be like my ideal cast

[–] greygore@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

Given that the poster has his own Wikipedia page… I’m going with dumbass?

[–] nil@piefed.ca 20 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

definitely needed that context

[–] hOrni@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I don't know if the post is real, but I want someone to point it out to the guy.

Edit: I've browsed this guy's account. The post is supposed to be sarcastic.

Oh, it's real alright. Don't know how aware he was of the facts though.

[–] nil@piefed.ca 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I checked his profile so you don't have to. He's a typical dumbass

[–] fushuan@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Another person said that according to his history he was being sarcastic.

Hmmmm......

I'm not invested enough though, idc

[–] rainwall@piefed.social 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Hes a racist piece of shit that was a core part of the alt rights "race realist" movment under a pen name until he got popular under his real name. Someone outted his racism and he suddenly "rejected his earlier writtings."

[–] fushuan@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 day ago

Yeah, I was linked his Wikipedia page a while ago, it leaves little room for misunderstanding.

[–] ArgumentativeMonotheist@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Definitely passes, wow! Good for her.

[–] Sanguine@lemmy.dbzer0.com 21 points 1 day ago

I know you meant this in a kind / supportive way so you'll probably be receptive to this: commenting on whether someone is "passing" or not is super rude in the trans community. Just say she is beautiful if you must comment on her appearance.
