It is not a straight line; rather, it is a journey of ups and downs, mistakes, stumbles, and standing up again. That is why being flexible is the greatest mental ability. New things, new behaviors, new realities, joys and sorrows… the one who learns to accept all of these is the one who moves ahead in the game of life. According to a 75-year-long study by Harvard University, the biggest factor in life success and mental peace is not IQ or degrees, but resilience the ability to hold yourself together in difficult situations. The same research also revealed that people who adapt themselves according to circumstances are not only happier but also live longer. Look at the major global economic crises. Whether it was the 2008 global financial crisis or the 2020 COVID pandemic, World Bank data shows that those individuals and institutions survived who were not rigid who learned, changed, and adopted new methods. Millions of jobs were lost, but millions of people rebuilt themselves through new skills. The same principle applies to an individual’s life. There comes a time when a person becomes hopeless. Darkness seems to be everywhere. People drift away simply because you are not meeting their expectations. This is the stage where most people break from within. According to the American Psychological Association, the most dangerous aspect of mental stress is that a person starts seeing the future as a closed door, whereas in reality, the ability to change circumstances exists within the human being. Holding yourself together at that very moment is real success. Keeping your belief alive that your time will change. Saving yourself from falling, shattering, and giving up is the real job. It is also a fact that we receive from our Lord according to the expectations we keep. Psychologists call this a self-fulfilling belief meaning the outcome a person believes in, their decisions unconsciously start moving in that direction. Statistics show that people who maintain confidence in themselves even in difficult situations have better decision-making, take risks with understanding, and are more successful in the long term. Self-belief and confidence are truly valuable assets. Look through history whether ancient wars or modern global politics. A nation whose morale breaks loses even with weapons, and a nation whose confidence remains intact stands firm even with limited resources. The same principle applies to an individual. You have to keep your own morale high. Blaming others for your failure may give temporary comfort, but it never provides a solution. Research shows that people who hand over control of their lives to others suffer more from stress, anxiety, and depression. Belief and trust. A person in whom both become strong never gives up. And the one who does not give up has no option left except victory. When no other option remains, then winning becomes inevitable. In such moments, circumstances, people, opportunities, and even nature start creating paths on their own. Yes, all of this takes time. According to the World Economic Forum, behind any major change or success there are on average 7 to 10 years of continuous effort that we do not see. That is why patience, perseverance, and continuous struggle must be held firmly. The greatest quality in life is this: to stand up even after falling, to change yourself with changing circumstances, and to keep hope alive until the last breath. This is the real formula.

Appreciate the perspective. My point was exactly that life only looks like a straight line if you reduce it to just birth and death. The moment you acknowledge real experiences in between, complexity appears. Glad we’re actually agreeing from different angles.
