I'm really glad that I, in an attempt to internalize my own masking and deny any feelings of queerness or gender dysphoria by trying my hardest to "be normal", renounced most of those creators and their adjacent spaces because it was related to "geek culture". It also helps that I was raised by my mother, who, despite her many faults, taught me to always be compassionate and empathetic to other people. I was radicalized as a leftist in my early teens, too, so even when I thought I had "outgrown" leftism in my 20s, I still navigated the world with compassion and a perspective shaped by recognizing and acknowledging injustice.

Also, I had read some philosophy and psychoanalysis in high school and college, so when I read JP's drivel it just seemed at the same time self-obvious and nonsensical, so i never took him seriously.
