This just reminds me of that post of a guy claiming that his grandfather refused to learn to read so that he couldn't read communist propaganda.

“Literacy” was always the most basic tool of totalitarian propaganda. If you are not literate you can’t be fed communist propaganda. The most steadfast anti-communist I knew in my childhood was my maternal grandfather who was illiterate. Communist propaganda did not reach him

i only learned how to read enough to understand various fast food franchise's menus. i will not be reading about "sharing" and "baths".
