I personally don't interact with lemmy.zip communities due to their bot-heavy nature, so I would leave both .ml and .zip to do their own thing. Having another non .ml and non .zip one makes the most sense to me. Consolidate against the dead ones. Best case scenario imo would be someone offering to mod the most active comm, .ml and .zip aside.
One of my alts is on .zip. I was unaware we had bots that do not mark themselves and are unobtrusive. Can you show me some examples? (Genuine ask, not me trying to say "you're wrong" in the most passive-aggressive way)
That may have been a misconception on my part (see the other replies to my comment). I did have another look recently and it doesn't seem nearly as bot-heavy as I remember. Again, it may just have been an unconscious bias I had. But I remember - maybe back when there was less activity on there, we're talking at least a year ago - it being dominated by bot posts and automated uploads/crossposts, e.g. ZippyBot etc. So it may well have been an old bias I held from back when it was a smaller instance. Btw I never said the bots were unmarked.
TL;DR: Mentally I shoved that instance into the same basket as lemmit.online, however that no longer seems to be the case.
No worries! If you want to have look at humans on .zip: https://lemmy.world/post/39773698?scrollToComments=true
Thx
Thanks for rechecking!
I went and assumed bot annoyance was about bots masquerading as people and outright bot spam, not legitimate use of bots to automate predictable posts (like weekly posts or relevant updates from a particular site). The fact you are bothering to point out that you never said the bots was unmarked lets me know I assumed incorrectly. Sorry.
Don't mention it! I'm glad people on Lemmy are capable of proper discussion/debates without it dissolving into arguments and chaos. It's strangely wholesome. :)
Lemmy.zip is okay, !soulslike@lemmy.zip or !twogoobers@lemmy.zip are definitely managed by humans
@agent_karyo@lemmy.world , do you foresee a lot of content for CS2? If not, maybe keeping it on !citybuilders@sh.itjust.works is fine?
Only occasional content from my perspective, just would be cool to have clarity whether we have the zip or the LW version as a main comm for cross-posting from !citybuilders@sh.itjust.works.
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I would suggest to just close both and regroup on !citybuilders@sh.itjust.works
SC2 is one of the most popular titles in the genre, having it on !citybuilders@sh.itjust.works would probably help the community to stay active
@cm0002@lemmy.zip , what do you think?
That's fine too.

Thank you!
And it's done ! https://lemmy.world/c/citiesskylines

Cheers!
Replied as a TLC the same, but I'm open to whatever if the other skylines comm is onboard to consolidating to another comm
Sorry, what's a TLC?

except, apparently, the one we are posting on here?
Yeah except that one 😅. Well spotted, I have to admit I never even noticed. Usually when I browse by all, the source of the majority of annoyances are bot posts from lemmy.zip, and another which slips my mind - maybe lemmy.online (can't quite remember).
lemmit.online is 100% bot
Lemmy.zip is fine
