I hate to say it but I don't think the average American cares much about the genocide in Gaza. Like they would prefer it not happen (usually), but they don't really give a shit. If Democrats or Republicans run a mildly charismatic person who says "I will give you healthcare", that's basically all that matters.

Admittedly more understandable coming from Appalachia, which is the poorest part of the US (maybe excluding reservations?) and stands to benefit more from even minor state welfare.

I think they do care about American resources going to a foreign state, even if they don't care Palestinians that much.
