Very fine sutures due to facial injury for minimal scarring? I have zero medical knowledge but I'm sure I've heard of that sort of thing.

Got it in one. You use very fine sutures placed closer together, which means the wound is very likely to reopen if subject to a lot of stress. BUT, very few people lift with their face.

Yeah 20 stitches for Fetterman isn't the same as 20 stitches for a regular person coming into an emergency department.

i just mean that 20 stitches is kind of a lot and not "oh we were just being cautious" but it's also good to point out him getting rich people cosmetic treatment when we poors would be lucky to retain our skin and our bank accounts with lesser treatment
