Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed.

All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body.

If you are citing a Twitter post as news, please include not just the twitter.com URL but also Xcancel.com (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance, such as Libredirect or archive them as you would any other reactionary source (archive.today, web.archive.org, ghostarchive.org). Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed.

Mass-tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken Markov chain bot will result in a comm ban.

Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.

Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned.

Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society.

About the legal expert...

Ryan Goodman, a law professor and co-editor-in-chief of Just Security, discussed the documents on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront."

"These are explosive," Goodman said.

Goodman is a social media law brain. Such liberal "experts" have been giving their takes that the Laws will take Trump down since halfway through Trump 1.0. "Explosive" is a new term. I'll add it to my list.

The walls are closing in

  • It's the beginning of the end.
  • The other shoe is about to drop.
  • The walls are closing in.
  • This is a bombshell.
  • This is a tipping point.
  • This is a turning point.
  • Trump is in trouble.
  • Trump's having a bad week.
  • Trump's having an awful week.
  • Trump's luck has run out.

Trump is going to face consequences for his actions around the same time that China's entire economy collapses

I was already tired of "legal expert" in headlines around 2018 because I was on Reddit all the time then and such posts were a r/politics staple. The articles were effectively clickbait because they were only the opinion of one person. But the headlines were copy-and-paste acceptable for that sub's rules. The clickbait might get 10+K upvotes while a far more sober but accurate and factual article about the situation might get 300 upvotes.

I think I went to r/politics once this year for a couple minutes. I just made another visit. A similarly titled article is at ~3K.

Donald Trump "may not outlast" Epstein files scandal: Legal analyst (newsweek.com)

It's the fifth most popular article. Of the top five - four have "Epstein" in the title. In fact - when I scrolled down I saw it was crazy. The entire homepage is Epstein city. Libs are going to be so sad and frustrated when all of this comes to naught.

I don't think libs will care. They'll tut about it, do nothing, whine about it over brunch, and then get back to ignoring their material reality

This is true, he won't outlast it because he is already on deaths door.

My favorite comment from Trump 1.0 happened when I was arguing with a lib for the nth time. I realized I should have simply stopped talking 2 if not 3 comments before. I wasn't going to convince them of my POV and vice versa.

So - I'm being an idiot. Again. Somebody is wrong on the net. So what! I'll end the convo on a form of detente and a positive note. I said that maybe Trump will have a massive heart attack and die and we'll be rid of him. Their reply really surprised me. They said they absolutely did not want that! They wanted Trump to go on trial and be held accountable!

I just had to laugh.

Unfortunately, 99.9% of war criminals won't face accountability on this earth. I don't believe in hell but...it's nice to think about these ghouls in excruciating pain for eternity
