Is this rage baiting sensationalism or something? Claires went into administration/bankrupt, in UK people tastes just changed and people just started shopping elsewhere. Is there a different story to this in US?

Nope. This is just a store’s management weirdly blaming the world for its own shortcomings. I honestly didn’t know Claire’s has been in business for the past 15 years, and I can’t remember the last time I saw one open.

It's just a normal thing companies do in the US to blame woke for them not being profitable, I guess as an excuse to shareholders or something

It's fucking insane right? If people here in the UK saw this they'd be more inclined to never shop there because it's so... Weird. Even putting aside the radical left domestic economic terrorists crap the "prioritising our shareholders" stuff is still likely to be taken extremely poorly by almost anyone.
