It's surprising how just knowing how to read cyrylic is enough for me to understand what's written, slavic languages are funky

most languages share a lot of political lingo, try learning as many scripts as you can and you'll notice it, when you learn a script not only can you read common words, but you can easily write it into a translator.

Yes and political words are often long and full of all the letters of the alphabet, so if you can find a couple cognates and those cognates are each like 10 letters long you have over half the alphabet right there. Learning scripts is fun!
