Welcome to the News community!
Rules:
1. Be civil
Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.
2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

When you hit and drag an officer with your car, you are going to be shot at. We have a long history of prosecuting "being hit by a car" as "assault with a deadly weapon" in this country. Especially when we have had so many cases of drinks, drug dealers, and so on, attempt to kill police with their cars (and succeeding in many cases) as well as killing innocent bystanders. We call it vehicular homicide.
Before I get cancelled, I'm all for due process. ICE is doing bad things. The government is doing bad things.
All that being said, running over a law enforcement officer, even when the officer is in the wrong, will get you shot (and probably killed).
You’re missing a core point: ICE habitually and consistently misrepresents their actions to cast themselves in a defensible light.
I would be 0% surprised if “running over a law enforcement officer” was “grabbed the door handle and didn’t let go because the ICEcube thought he had a brown fish on the line”. ICE gets absolutely zero benefit of the doubt from me, and should get zero benefit of the doubt from anyone who’s not an overt racist.
And you’re missing another key element here: the agents involved are going to likely get the carte blanche rubber stamp of “qualified immunity” in a situation where they acted as judge, jury, and executioner on what could generously be described as flimsy evidence. It was bad before we had an authoritarian fascist regime in charge, but it’s getting turbocharged now. Refusing to acknowledge that is, at best, an indication of being woefully ignorant and misinformed. ICE is not the good guys.
That's poetry right there
When you trust everything law enforcement says,
Yeah, it didn't look to me like he was dragged. It looked like he refused to let go.
Assuming that's what happened. If we have a long history of anything in the US, it's lying, piece of shit cops.
Ok, question: did these "officers" announce themselves? Did they display badges, or any kind of identifying markings? Did they have a warrant?
Kinda sounds like an attempted kidnapping followed by murder, to me.
There is video of this online. ICE lied and that never happened. Don’t blindly believe fascists, especially when they have a reputation for lying to cover up their actions.
The officer who was "hit and dragged by the car" but managed to upholster his weapon and shoot the driver all while being "dragged?"
I understand your point, but did you watch the security camera video? If you haven't, go watch it and ask yourself if the shooting was warranted.
Empathetic to ICE, then. Got it.
Yes, but in this sense, you use "Sympatheitc".
People didn't read the article
Wrap it up, boys! Totally believable!
I hope the rat did actually get dragged by the car.
I wonder if he even has any scratches on him.
It's in the article...
Obviously you get downvoted if you do anything but blindly agree. Imagine a world where people would not always blindly follow everything that happens to fit their believes.
Sheeple! You must agree, forget the rule of law! All must fall into lockstep with the masses.
/s critical thinking is hard.
