Fun fact that's completely unrelated:

Did you know that when a new lion takes over a pride it kills all the cubs so the females go into heat?

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 28 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Did I fuck up by not murdering my stepsons when I had the chance?

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 34 points 2 months ago

If you have to ask the question I think you know the answer.

That is some weird biology. Totally makes sense from an evolutionary standpoint but weird nonetheless.

Lion: hey sexy mama. I just killed your baby. I want to get freaky.

Lioness: you got me in the mood. Mount me.

I'm sure some plausible reasons can be found in the philosophical treatises have penned over the years...

I know that when children are removed by the state for safety concerns, it is very common to become pregnant again within a year.

It's also a trope that people get horny at funerals.

So quite possibly it would.

My grandma had about four hundred people at her funeral and I got to go last.

If by "history" you mean "I read it in the Volsunga Saga"

Which is particularly interesting given that, like in a real lion pride, the adults in question were siblings.

[–] baines@lemmy.cafe 2 points 2 months ago

no but I’ll give it a look

I was referring more to women being taken as war spoils

[–] Bennyboybumberchums@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

You can just picture the conversation down the pub... "Yeah, she said she had a headache. So I murdered her son, and she couldnt get on my cock fast enough... Women, am I right?" lol
