On this week this niche leftist forum was first launched (its was the 24th or 25th i think) Formed from the Chapotraphouse subreddit remnants that survived the reddit ban over the calls of violence against confederate slave owners, the first admins decided to use Lemmy as its base. Originally called Chapo.chat (ChaCha) Hexbear has grown into one of the biggest instances in the lemmyverse.
In this last 5 years hexbear has survived many diffent events from numerous struggle sessions, mod clique-users conflicts, wrecker incursions from other instances and sites, this image 
, a decent amount of fedidrama with other instances and the domain crisis, we still thrive with over 5 million comments and 375k posts.
I still continue my dictatorial rule over the general megathread for now over 4 years now, this time locked in the chapo comm so it can be more easily moderated, c/indigenous has now grown to 750 subs which im very happy plus now i take care of the empoc mega which has been pretty chill so far.
I still really enjoy the fedidrama, it fun to see all the fedilibs always thinking about hexbear despide the fact that they are on defederated instances and they can ust ignore us, we live rent free on their minds

I’m sure Marx mentioned something about it, but from my pov, the us empire and economy aren’t “dying” but moreso “retiring”.
The American capitalist has a clear aversion to hiring anyone at all, they don’t want to invest even a penny into expanding their businesses. You can’t get hired because employers are more hire-shy than ever, all the assets are being sold off despite its clear benefit to the economy because the ruling class somehow doesn’t even think it needs its capital anymore.
There’s record high demand for everything, and the ruling class is too weak-willed to roll up its sleeve and quintuple the size of their businesses, hire a boatload of people and easily make a killing by catering to this infinite market demand. Instead they’re all asleep at the wheel.
The reason is that fixed capital is more expensive than ever. The quintupling of production cannot happen without investing in fixed capital which every year increases in cost (and so does variable capital and wages). The tendency of profit to fall is haunting the united states’ ruling class. Their solution is to concentrate demand in the upper strata and let everyone else die. Meanwhile in China, while the same forces are at play, with margins being razor thin, public funding and investment causes companies to compete, become lean and efficient as fuck, then blow up into super corps.
