If he wins, the dem establishment is fucking joever. It will show that people will actually vote for candidates that behave like empathetic human beings and the democratic and republican parties have very few of those.

If they can't bury him with their capital, ownership of media, etc ... They will murder him.

Let's not delude ourselves here. We're taking about a collective of megalomaniacs, psychopaths, and narcissists who wage wars and commit genocide on behalf of the almighty dollar. They have no problem mass murdering babies. Murdering millions of innocent civilians is of no consequence to these demons. Neutralizing some elected socialist is nothing more than a line item on a Tuesday morning to them.

I'm not suggesting anyone back down. I'm suggesting you need to know your enemy, and be prepared to act accordingly. They'll murder everyone sympathetic to leftism before they let socialism redistribute their wealth.

Literally this lol, rip JFK. The problem is that the masses will never support a revolutionary uprising unless a peaceful one has been tried and beaten down.

Isn’t that, by itself, a good thing?

[–] geneva_convenience@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 day ago

It is certainly better than doing nothing. But be prepared for establishment ghouls siding with Republicans more openly to suddenly get "stuff zone".

People often say like "You can't just shoot trump, you'll make him a martyr and hyper energize his base!" I don't know if that's true. I like to think that if Zohran was assassinated, people would push harder for his vision and legacy. But a lot of people are also kind of just.. not all the way here.

Trumps following is quite cult-like, so there's a chance. But I think it's very likely that, even if they continue to idolize trump, the movement will be extremely split instead of rallying behind one person.

I'm honestly kinda surprised no one has tried again, take some inspiration from ukraine and it seems very hard for him to actually be safe from attempts.

Difference is Trump is much more on national level. Bigger game.

You can make your point without using slurs.

Good. Sometimes I fantasize about getting into local politics but have been fearful I’m not self centered enough to be successful. This gives me hope.

[–] Goldholz@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 1 day ago

Dont need to be self centered. Its not about you. But your community!

I imagine the one thing most needed to get into Democratic politics is to pretend to kowtow to them. Promise you’ll vote for their antisocial policies. Then don’t, and say it’s because you need to build up public goodwill, and the vote they wanted wasn’t going to pass anyway, etc.

so pulling a reverse fetterman?

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

At least in all the giant cities with ranked choice voting.

Still gonna be tight in Amarillo.

Ok, so here's why anyone to the left of manchin can't win anywhere else.
