I started with that same Alfred's book! You're going to have so much fun! Don't forget to try out jazz after you've got a handle on chords
I already know most of the stuff and I feel like the book is using weird chords because it doesnβt want to introduce the black keys yet.
You have to put yourself into the mindset of a total beginner. When you're first learning to read and play music, accidentals can be overwhelming.
