I love having an hour at home everyday at lunchtime to make fresh, healthy meals from scratch
Could make hummus before hand, it keeps pretty well in the fridge.
Then they wouldn't have made it for lunch.
I mean you just dump it in a blender if you're using canned chickpeas, that hardly takes an hour especially if you've made it a few times and got the hang of it.
Dude you gotta skin the peas one by one it takes fucking hours
Don't forget you have to de-stone them as well.
When not using dried peas (soak and cook) the skins float to the surface automatically.
I like it better with freshly cooked chickpeas
I assumed your op was sarcastic/negative tone, but I'm realizing maybe you saw the quality and care this particular hummus took to make and were being genuine.
These results look like they taste amazing. But a can of chickpeas for homemade hummus lunch is a really nice lunch too. I think culture needs to shift from recipes and "right" way to do things and start learning how to cook as a general life skill again. Food is expensive now but do we really feed and shop for ourselves like it is?
Dried chickpeas are cheaper than canned ...
It might be a 3 hour process, but you can get that down to 3 2 minute tasks and 1 ten minute one. And that's going from dried beans to cleaning up behind yourself... It's really very easy to make
