Was worried for a moment that this post was going to be about Gaben (who I rent all my games from) revealing a hard right shift. Like Gaben really obviously doing a 2018-era Musk slide to the right. “You don’t gotta hand it to them, but some Republicans are alright. Also, I love MAGA and Gordon Freeman would’ve marched at Charlottesville and Chell would’ve defended freedom on Jan 6.”
You thought my beautiful gamer Jesus who runs a structureless game development commune would have right wing leanings? Yeah, you're probably right. There's no good millionaire. Fuck that guy.
I wouldn't try and guess Newell's politics but I gotta believe there's one rich guy smart enough to not be Elon Musk.
He's a libertarian. During the BLM protests, Valve workers wanted the company to make a statement one way or the other, and what the company ended up doing was giving each employee a bonus that they could donate to something if they wanted to.
Do you have a source for this? Sounds hilarious
This video, where they directly interviewed (anonymous) current and former Valve employees. Unfortunately there don't seem to be any articles on the bonus specifically.
