Does most base-languages for alienspeak come from Nederlandse?
English does have a lot of Dutch and French influences. But most European languages come from some ancient indo-european root. Western European languages also have shared influences from Latin, the result of Roman inperialism.
Oh god, we're going to feel anglo imperialism for years to come.
More like centuries. I mean, even the Romans never ended up colonising the entire world. And still roman influence is felt across Europe for millenia after it stopped being a relevant geopolitical player.
