If there is one thing the workers can't stand, it is occasionally getting paid to go fishing or crack open a cold one and grill outdoors.

The president of the United States taking a break from threatening to bomb Iran to personally oversee the installation of new flagpoles at the White House feels like a scene from a dark political satire. But Donald Trump isn’t one to let the absurdity speak for itself, My Pet Goat-style.

During the Thursday morning event, Trump made off-the-cuff remarks that showed he’s not too stressed about possibly starting a war in the Middle East. Trump lobbed some more vague schoolyard threats at Iran:

Q: Is the US moving closer to striking Iranian nuclear facilities?TRUMP: I may do it, I may not do it. Nobody knows what I'm going to do. Iran's got a lot of trouble. pic.twitter.com/33jiLd3eSf

Q: Did you give the Iranians an ultimatum?TRUMP: Ahhhh -- you could say so. Maybe you could call it the ultimate ultimatum pic.twitter.com/Pwgph6z79I

But he certainly didn’t seem laser-focused on the question of whether he’ll join Israel in attacking Iran. He also complained about FED Chair Jerome Powell, yukked it up with construction workers, lamented that he hasn’t been golfing in three whole weeks, and made ridiculous comments about his relationship with the “Fake News” (“I was the hunted. But now I’m the hunter.”)

But perhaps most stupidly of all, Trump would not say the word commonly used to describe putting up a flagpole — though he did let everyone know he couldn’t stop thinking about the word that “starts with an E”:

Trump: "Let's have a good -- they call it a lifting. They also use another word but I'm not gonna use that word. It says with an E. Do you know what the word is? If I ever used it I would be run out of town. Alright. So enjoy it." pic.twitter.com/FrAtXVXG0I

If only Trump were as worried about the Iran situation as he is about everyone in 4th grade making fun of him for saying a word that means “boner”!

Folks, I have it on good authority that the Alt National Parks Facebook page is run by outside agitators.
