People who value things like open source are more likely to be curious people who enjoy understanding something

often such projects require active engagement and self education they also reward people look deeply into something

Look at things like Facebook everything is designed to lead you to an endpoint you are not ever allowed to understand how the machine works they reward people who shallowly engage often at a base less

It's not mere complacency these platforms are designed for different people the people who enjoy one platform don't typically enjoy the other because it's not one specific thing about the product they enjoy or don't enjoy it's all the systems that form the big machine that they enjoy

because they view it as a moral failing instead of an outcome of a system

they view the world as mostly fair in large part because they've never really struggled or worked hard and had it amount to nothing despite there best efforts

they view homelessness as the end point of a series of bad decisions the person experiencing it has freely chosen this is why you commonly hear people say the majority of homeless people are drug addicts or antisocial people and choose to be homeless despite insert program name existing

in this world view giving a homeless person free housing is rewarding bad people who makes bad antisocial choices on purpose because they are bad

they charge what they do because it works for everyone steam has more users and does more for them so it costs more to maintain everything which is fine for devs because people actually buy things on steam

the only time anyone ever talks about epic is to shit on them ,talk about the current free game there giving away and .... well thats it at least in my experience
