Yeah dude, the Pandemic was localised entirely within the U.S.

Trump dancing like a clown on the world stage, wrecking economies and aiding his favourite Russian Master is at this point only affecting the U.S. No other country affected by this shitshow 👍

Usually, you use the D-pad with your left hand. But in dark souls, movement is done with the left analog stick. Otherwise, if d-pad is used for movement (and not item switching), you use your left hand

on the xbox controller the D-pad is to the left of the Right stick, meaning you can easily move your thumb over it to use it in certain games (like in Dark Souls, you use it to change equipped consumables/weapons). Whereas with the symmetric design, you'd have to move your right thumb a bigger distance, and also get in the way of your left thumb (which is on the left stick for movement). Ofcourde, you can always let go of movement to switch items, but that's not always an easy option (Bossfights, enemy encounters, ehere you have to be moving constantly)

That's just one game i can think of where the asymmetric dedign is better

Bigger button as in, compared to the XYAB/Symbols buttons. The bumper just feels like a big button you press down. And the trigger does look like a gun trigger, due to the shape. Well, at least on an Xbox controller

the trigger is like the trigger of a gun. the bumper is a bump/bigger button

but then in french what changes is you say "a woman is someone who makes ovules" and then someone replies with a photo of a cow/sheep/monkey and say "this is a woman"

wouldn't you need to do 'hail sized pea, hail sized baseball' etc? otherwise you are comparing the size of hail to other objects, rather than other objects to hail

title self-explanatory. Sync is great and all, but i often make comments and then a few days later i remember i made them and i see i got replies

this one is based on liminal spaces, and an idea of a story i had that never came to life.

the alternative title for this is "A Happy Place" which i thought adding to the title of this post would make it a word salad :)

hello! i decided i finally wanted to make lemmy a more active place, so i am going to post my digital art on here.

i don't really have the best art but i hope my contribution will help :) I will post more eventually.

This drawing is one i made in 2020, and it's of a famous place called World's End.

For context i did not know you can use an account from a single instance to post on another. With this in mind I have a few questions:

  1. If I can use one instance account everywhere, why can I make multiple accounts?
  2. Why isn't there a centralised account system?
  3. What's the use of having per instance accounts?

I'm currently considering keeping this main account and deleting the ones on other instances, because if i can interact with those instances I don't see the need for an account.
