it has its issues, imo the worst part is the repeating animations, but the story is interesting, thought provoking. there is also a movie that does a slightly different spin on it, but it almost completely leaves reality behind but on the other hand looks gorgeous
in the og series, the episodes are really short (especially if you start skipping the repeating bits), so you can pick it up if you have a just bit of time
imo try the series and watch the movie after, otherwise you'll enjoy the movie less without knowing who's what
