I'm assuming that there's more we're not getting (yet?), but I also know, in those circles, they say things like, "If a man can't keep his house in order, how can keep a church/company/etc. in order?" and that might mean finding a way to keep it under wraps and keep his son from prosecution. He failed to control his son, and he failed to game the system to keep this out of court and out of the news, so he shant be trusted.

I have thought a lot recently about how every thinker in ethics and moral philosophy seems to think that only elites matter. The definition of "elite" can be narrow or wide, but fuck it seems like the most enlightened amongst us do not even realize ordinary people exist beyond in an theoretical, academic sense.

People have various degrees of bigotry and stupidity, but you are 100% right that the vast majority of people just want to help each other and live a decent life.

With all the bizarre shit that has happened since Charlie Kirk's shooting, and it's a new level of Bizarro World out there, the most bizarre may be that Rafael Edward Cruz was a voice of reason.

Craigslist exists like my totaled car exists: yeah, it's technically there, but it's a shell of itself and doesn't actually have anything worthwhile. Maybe in large metros it's still a viable option, but even in a 250,000 people metro it's a ghost town.

Can't buy things if no one is selling there, can't sell things if no one is buying there.

God, I miss Craigslist.

Kirk wasn't an undesirable; he was much closer to a Pharisees or rich man, or maybe a Roman given his connection to empire: an oppressor who manipulated and interpreted law to his own benefit and publicly condemned the undesirables and anyone who would dare say the undesirables are beloved children of God.

If Jesus ate as his table, Jesus would say something against religious leadership or empire, which would add to the list of grievances they used to justify killing him.

I'm also guessing "pastor" doesn't mean "seminary trained, regular background checks, psychologically evaluated, tested for competence, and examined by others to discern call in a denomination that requires pastors act like mandatory reporters" but instead means "Bubba says the Bible good and hates the right folks."

Do you know what has all of those adverse effects in much greater frequency while also having a profound effect on your life? Pregnancy

Yes, the medical field has done a fucking terrible job of communicating the adverse effects of anything to do exclusively with AFAB bodies - look up what an IUD insertion is like without anesthesia - but again, if we compare hormonal birth control to pregnancy in terms of adverse physiological and mental effects, it's not even on the same planet.

Yeah, it might not be great for a sizable percentage of folks, and a minute percentage of folks have more immediately dangerous adverse effects that make taking hormonal birth control impossible, but in almost every case pregnancy is worse.

There's an obvious reason to get pregnant, for sure, but it comes with much, much greater risks than preventing it, especially if you don't want the intended outcome of pregnancy.

Gonna be honest, we should be thankful these freaks aren't carrying themselves with dignity. People will respect horrible, horrible things done politely.

Absolutely, fuck the police, but are you also teaching your children to never call an ambulance or the fire department? Are we also saying fuck paramedics and firefighters? Because, again, it's the same goddamn number for both, and you don't usually get the other services without the murder hobos tagging along.

Maybe we can focus on the murder hobos and not blaming a child for the actions of the murder hobos.

~~Yeah, 12 year old should know that calling 911 for help is literally murder! /s

He's a literal child and was scared. He called for help. It's gross to blame him or even imply he should know calling for help on the same line you call for fire and ambulances will cause an attempted murder.~~

ETA: I don't know where I came up with him being 12, but the point about calling for help and the murder hobos being the same line as the helpers still stands. Blaming a 19 year old for calling 911 because the cops decided to try to murder someone is still gross.
