I get way more use out of Doubly Connected Edge Lists (DCEL) than I ever thought I would when I first learned about them in school.

When I want to render simple stuff to the screen, built-in functions like 'circle' or 'line' work. But for any shapes more complicated than that, I often find that it's useful to work with the data in DCEL form.

Lots of folks talking about the diagram. And for good reason. It's a good diagram full of good games.

But I want to draw folks attention to the linked article. It's well written and I enjoyed it.

Woof! This would have normally been a "buy it blind and play it all day" situation for me. But I'm going to hold off and wait for some more reviews. I want to be careful to put my money towards games that I'll actually enjoy.

Thanks for mentioning Bruno! It looks awesome. I haven't tried it out, but I'm going to give it a shot today.

Damn, you're totally right. The writing was excellent. It feels like the game lit a fire in the author and they just needed to creatively and comprehensively destroy the game with words.

This was an excellent read. The professor clearly thought a lot about what they wanted their students to get out of investigating the limits of AI use. It seems like it was a well crafted experiment as well as being a well crafted learning experience. Thanks for sharing the link.

No note other than to say this is a fantastic rebuttal.

Yeah, seriously everyone should stop buying dishwasher pods. Just buy powdered dishwasher soap. A huge box is super cheap and nearly everyone's dishwasher was actually designed for the powdered stuff. These pods are a blight.

I had the idea a while back that making a crochet nudibranch with a frilled edge would be lots of fun. And I was thinking of making a scarf. So I made a nudibranch scarf.

I've been thinking about starting a new project.

I was really inspired by the look of the shawl in this blog post.

The problem I'm running into is finding yarn that will fade from one colour to the next gradually over the span of 1000m. All the skeins I'm finding in my local shop vary in colour a couple of times in just 300m, or much less gradual than that.

If such a product can't be easily found, I suppose I could buy several skeins, cut them into many long pieces, group those pieces by colour, and then wind it all back up again? But to me that sounds like a crazy idea.

I'm the first to admit that I'm new to crochet and I'm still just shopping at the local general craft store. That's why I'm posting. I'd really appreciate any advice that more experienced folks have on finding what I'm looking for.
