I started with EndeavourOS also (earlier this year) and it has been amazing. Also only little bit of Linux knowledge beforehand. Honestly think using a terminal centric distro is helpful for learning.

who are these international and ideological competitors ? What happens if they develop it further than for profit corporations ?

To me it seems like for profit corporations themselves are our international and ideological adversaries.

never got to play this, but I have been playing Dune: Spice Wars which has been pretty fun. Might not be that similar but Dune universe is excellent for these type of games for sure.
