That happened to me. I got COVID pre-vaccine, and for years after that I got every bug going, including multiple COVID infections. After time this seems to have passed. I have now gone one year without COVID, which is a miracle. I feel like my first infection buggered up my immune system. I think I have finally recovered now. I wish you the best of luck.

This article is from 2019 and argues against the methods laid out in research article published at the same time. It does not provide adequate evidence to support your claim that thid is a myth. I Will do some more research later today, but this author writes for a think tank. I'd advise some due dillignece before reading this guys material. Forbes is also right leaning so will have some level of bias here.

Wonderful news. I just updated and it's working again. YouTube is so far down the enshittification tunnel that it's only a matter of time until something like this gets rolled out again. I really want Peertube to be the one, but there's just not that many people using it. I've done away with reddit and Twitter and now much prefer Lemmy and Mastadon, but YouTube is harder to kick.

Has it improved health or reduced obesity, though? That's kind of the interesting thing, here. What has happened to overall calorie consumption?

Class war has been on since 1979.

Despite record levels of renewables now in use, carbon emissions and fossil fuel consumption are also at record levels and look set to continue to grow. Despite the shiny corporate veneer, this was read like a kick in the teeth for me. This is an important document which more people should be aware of.

Yes, it has infected plenty of mammals. It has caused mass die offs in aquatic mamals in South America and has spread through a mink farm in Europe. But no, it does not appear to have adapted to transmit more easily between humans yet.

Regardless of your political views... The fact you can watch civilians being blown up and be like "justice" is pretty raw dude. I think you need to have a think about how you relate to the world... and other humans.

control net for xl (lemmy.world)

I find control net will sometimes not work at all with XL. Some times it will, but sometimes the image will just not be impacted by it at all. I don't know why. Is this me, or a bigger problem with control net?

If SD lose these copyright cases, will the models need to be deleted? Does anyone know?

Inpaint upload (lemmy.world)

Hi all.

On Automatic 1111, I'm struggling to get inpaint upload to work. I've heard you need to define your mask first, but I don't know what that means? And how do you ensure it's grafted onto the correct part of the image? I can't see any means of selecting any part of either the base image or the upload image?

Any help is very much appreciated. I am both a noob AND an old person.

Thanks.

I reccomend reading Ultra-Processed People by Chris Van Tulleken. It explains how modern food is designed to be over consumed. Mind blowing book.

What about a community called something like "Keep it Running" within which we can compare items we've kept running for as long as possible. My laptop is about to make its tenth birthday without any hardware updates (thanks Linux Lite).

I disagree with that statement generally, but anyway, you can't catch cancer. You can catch a disease that causes cancer, but eating cancer itself wouldn't give you cancer. You can however catch prion disease... And these can live in real flesh/meat you get from a shop.

Also, there will be ground up cancer in processed meat. I guarantee it. You don't think farm animals get cancer?

Love Lemmy and this server. I appreciate the probably hellish amount of work that goes on to keep this ticking over, truly. But is there a privacy statement available? I like to know these things.

Very true. Some of us can afford to live with a bit less and recalibrate their life towards improving things. Not all can, though, of course.

It's almost as if we should be spending our time working to mitigate climate change and helping build societal resilience instead of working on meaningless careers....
