Christ he gets more grotesque every day

To save money, right?

You must be so proud, ICE

I don't know what's more terrifying, the actions of ICE or the faces of the local news anchors as they report on literal fascism in their own city.

In a statement Friday afternoon, a Customs and Border Protection spokesman said, “Jorge Sierra-Hernandez was arrested because he rammed his car into a CBP vehicle, causing significant damage and obstructed the work of our agents and officers during course of a law enforcement operation. During this incident, agents were assaulted, and additional rioters threw rocks and other objects at our personnel. Anyone who actively obstructs or assaults law enforcement, including U.S. citizens, will face consequences which include arrest.”

ICE are lying bastards and their time is up.

Well that’s the thing. Do meaningless things make the national news everyday in October? Yes. And here we are in June. They’re gonna throw more money at us until we forget about 2016. And since that’s not going to happen, it’s all this.

Oh, sorry. Just riffing on the stoner thing. Nah, you’re good. Thanks for the added take.

“They wanted to show they were gutting the government, but there was no thought about what parts might be worth keeping,” said one FDA staffer who was fired and rehired. “Now it feels like it was all just a game to them.”

Another brilliant decision, UHC brains!

“Elon was “wearing thin,” I asked him to leave, I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!), and he just went CRAZY!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Computer! What is a “memory hole”?

DAVID BROOKS, NEW YORK TIMES: Yes, I'm not sure it was wreckage. There was wreckage if you're at NIH. There are wreckage at certain agencies, but the guy only saved $65 billion out of a multitrillion-dollar budget.

So, as a budget matter, you would not say he had a big effect, but he did manage to destroy NIH and USAID. And the USAID one is the one I haven't gotten over. And so there's folks at Boston University who count, how many people have died because of what DOGE did at USAID? And USAID was a very ill-managed organization. That's true.

But according to the Boston University folks, so far, 55,000 adults have died of AIDS in the four months since Trump was elected, 6,000 children are dead because of what DOGE did. That's just PEPFAR, the HIV. You add them all up, that's 300,000 dead, and we're four months in.

Now, you add, accumulate that over four years, the number of dead grows very high. There are mass murderers in the world, Pol Pot, Mao Tse-Tung, Stalin. We don't have anybody on the list from America. And I don't think it's the same as committing the kind of genocide they did. But by taking away that agency and being at least semi-responsible for the deaths of probably by the end of this hundreds of thousands of millions of people, that's Elon Musk's legacy.

And the people who work at Tesla and SpaceX may want to think about that.

Here at the blog, we try not to write about every insane blurbling of Dear Leader. We’d never do anything else! But this seems a significant moment in the annals of him losing what is left of his mind, that he TruthSocialed on Saturday night:

There is no #JoeBiden – executed in 2020. #Biden clones doubles & robotic engineered soulless mindless entities are what you see. #Democrats don’t know the difference.

Followed by a whole bunch of hashtags.

Er, which is it, a clone or a robot, now there’s both? Who executed him, Trump? Which one of the clones has the cancer that Trump does not feel sorry about? Wouldn’t a clone/robot have done better in that debate? Also, wouldn’t a clone start as a baby, so you would have to wait 80 years for your Biden to be ready for service? How have THEY managed to keep this technology under wraps from even Elon Musk, whose robots can’t even ride a bicycle, much less eat ice cream?

. . . He sure is extra conspiracy-minded lately. Friday he was posting that CBS was out to get him and suppressed footage of his 2015 appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” “You are not supposed to see this video. CBS DELETED this entire episode from their official website. You will not find these segments on YouTube either,” he heaved, even though the footage is easily found right there on YouTube.

. . . His belfry of bats is an unknowable mystery. Where his real mind ends and a kayfabe begins has been a point of philosophical debate since at least 100,000 lies ago, or however many there have been since the Washington Post stopped counting in January of 2021.

Trump first praised QAnon cultists publicly in August of 2020.

. . . Now he is going all in on this strategy. In 2022, Kash Patel told the podcast Patriot Party News:

We try to incorporate [QAnon theories] into our overall messaging scheme to capture audiences because whoever that person is has certainly captured a widespread breath of the MAGA and the America First movement. And so what I try to do is what I try to do with anything, Q or otherwise, is you can’t ignore that group of people that has such a strong dominant following.

Kash Patel has been QAnon-adjacent since at least 2018, when a Q-drop itself posted, “Kashyap Patel - name to remember,” way back when Patel was then just a lowly committee aide to Devin Nunes, the House Intelligence Committee chair at the time. Patel began compiling a “deep state” enemies list, which just also happened to be a list of people seen to be a threat to Trump.

And in February 2022, days after Truth Social went live, Patel posted there that he was “Having a beer with q right now,” and the next day, “Alright anons, where are we kicking it tonight? Hashtag FlannelFridays,” which is apparently a thing QAnon does so they can wink wink at each other.

Prison calls pulled by investigators and detailed in the police records – a process that started on Monday – show how another person, accused of attacking Morales-Reyes, discussed sending letters to government offices, including ICE, and wanted to have him deported prior to the case going to trial in July, preventing Morales-Reyes from ever testifying against him.

The person allegedly cut Morales-Reyes with a box cutter before robbing him of his bike in September 2023 and while the case is set to go to trial, it is unclear now if Morales-Reyes will be able to testify or will be deported from the country beforehand.

The calls obtained by investigators allegedly detail how the person had others search for government addresses, including the ICE office where the letter was received, and had them mail letters.

“With my armed robbery case, he’s an illegal immigrant. Soon as ICE makes contact with him, he’s getting deported,” the individual allegedly said on a May 3 call transcribed by police.

In a call in early April, the person said that because Trump is now in office it would be easy to have Reyes – whom he described as an “illegal immigrant” who didn’t “know a lick of English” – deported.

“He outta there,” the person said in a phone call on May 1, according to police records. “Once he have a run in with any ICE law enforcement. When he came to court he was scared to testify but even if you an illegal immigrant you can still testify but Trump wasn’t in office but now Trump came in office, they deported any motherf**ker. They going into court houses, all that.”

On other calls, the person allegedly asked for the local ICE office’s phone number and tried to have someone set up a three-way call with the office. (That effort was unsuccessful.) The person also allegedly asked for the address for the ICE office and Attorney General Pam Bondi.

“I sent a big manila envelope to mama’s house. It either got there yesterday or – so, um, it’s either gonna be there tomorrow or it already got there,” the person allegedly said on a phone call in April. “It’s two letters in there that’s already written up, I just need you to put them in the mailbox for me. I just need them to be mailed out from the street and not from here.”

When your clownshow fascist administration is so crooked they can be reliably used to plink someone from testifying.

Not that Reyes is still in ICE custody despite not having done it. Not that anyone is surprised that fascists keep people in prison for no reason.
