I dont know what you say, I transitioned to Lemmy 100% and deleted my acc at reddit.

The only super annoying thing is that they get to keep the cake whole and the dog full (my comments by deleting my name and my acc deleted). Which I despite them for that even more now and just make me avoid the platform even more and dis-advertise it.

I would be fully happy if I had my account, changed my comments first to "fuck /u/spez" and then had deleted my account, but I only knew so much. I was naive enough to think they would delete my comments too, since they're My Intellectual Property. Right? They came from my own mind, I took the time to write them, and I deleted them! But no! We will keep them, just delete your name.

And when you google my reddit username, you still get from the google's cache directed to threads with my deleted comments. Fuck you spez. Fuck you.

Time will tell if reddit won. It's not a short-term fight. I deleted my discord a Chinese Tencent's vessel and a product that makes no money but burns money for the sake of gathering data. My Instagram, my Meta account thus my FB too, my WhatsApp, every app that was there just to gather my data or exploit me now or in the future.

I do everything to keep off being fingerprinted. I use platforms that use more and more end-to-end encryption like Matrix. Or at worst Telegram which is not end to end but the best of the worst since my relatives still use it.

Just because you don't see it yet, doesn't mean that a movement against anti-consumer platforms like reddit don't exist. I inform my mom about it, I inform my relatives and friends about it. I move friends and friends move me to safer for the future to use platforms and de-centralized.

A battle may be short, but the war is long.

Yep, let them enjoy their own medicine. If they want war, let them taste war.

They already encouraged it by letting Putin and his pawns motivate propaganda, pro-war posters and pro-war ads everywhere and their own useful men dying. The prorogative about "but but I would get jailed", yes, and the other alternative is to let your husband die at war and kill innocent ukrainians ya? Sure, enjoy the flavor of your own medicine. And this was just a tiny bit.

I'm thinking it could even be "partizans". It could be anybody really.

As Carl Sagan once said "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence" (ECREE).

So truth is, at the end of the day we do not who 100% committed this.

But I'm honestly happy Moscovians, the "privilleged", get a taste of their own medicine and propaganda in their mouth. I'm not happy that people getting killed, I'm happy that people who support war, finally taste their own medicine.

War is ugly, war is hell, and if you start it, and you agree with it, better get a taste of it.

I dont care this prorogative Moscovians and Russians have that "we're scared of your government jailing us", it's better than thousands of Ukrainians losing their land, getting raped, committing crimes against them and against the world, killing innocent Ukrainians and innocent citizens, babies and children. Your government is literally just a couple of people. 100 of them? 1000 of them? You're millions. Get a brain.

If you dont have the courage to protest against your own country committing attrocities with your own men, then you better get a taste of your own medicine and I dont give a single fuck about it. I'm honestly happy they finally get to taste just a tiny tiny bit war's flavor.

edit:

And if it's partizans, good for them. They understand the way.

Conscripted = Defend your country. Not attack another country. Russia just pretends they're "defending motherland" so they find an excuse to """"conscript (untrained) Russians"""" to go to war and they advertise "it's good money" literally everywhere. There are posters everywhere about it and so much propaganda and pro-war ads.

In any case, there is ALWAYS a choice. Even killing your own commander, or protesting against your government is a choice. So many Russians have literally abandoned their positions because they do not believe in this war. That was a choice. You always have a choice. Especially them, so many of them. Yes, difficult ones, but let's not pretend that they "do not have a choice". They do, they always did.

You always have a choice, than go to a war where you win nothing but kill innocent Ukrainians, committing war crimes and invading other country "to defend yours" which is their propaganda prorogative.

edit:

You know who "doesn't have a choice"? Ukrainians. They are there to defend their land. And the funny thing is, they do have a choice. They could just say "fuck it I won't do it". But they still stand. Even they, have a choice. And they chose to defend their land.

So let's not pretent that Russians, got conscripted thus they didn't have a choice. Everybody has a choice, and they have to live with it and die with it.

«Мамочкааааааа»

Да?

Сейчас Розумієш што ета Война??

Now do you understand suddenly what war is? What democracy is? When to invade other peoples countries?

[-] exapsy@sh.itjust.works 16 points 11 months ago

Ouch! This looks painful. But Eh ... I dont care what they say, they decided to go there and die there, instead of pissing on their commander, dying for democracy instead and going anywhere else but in Ukraine to kill Ukrainians.

"As a result of an enemy drone on the Krasnogvardeisky district, there was a detonation at an ammunition depot," official Sergei Aksyonov said on Telegram. "A decision was taken to evacuate people (living) within five kilometres" of the zone, he said, adding that: "To minimise risks, it was also decided to halt rail traffic on Crimean railways."

  • Russia has escalated its attacks on Ukrainian food export facilities and practiced seizing ships in the Black Sea, potentially threatening a global food crisis and increasing concerns about the supply of grain.

  • The attacks on Ukraine's grain infrastructure came after Kyiv vowed to defy Russia's naval blockade on its grain export ports, following Moscow's withdrawal from a UN-brokered safe sea corridor agreement.

  • Western leaders accuse Russia of attempting to loosen sanctions by targeting Ukraine's food exports, while the United States imposed Russia-related sanctions against nearly 120 people and entities in an effort to constrain Russia's military capabilities.

Head of French President Emmanuel Macron's Elysee Palace diplomatic team has said that China was delivering items to Russia which could be used as military equipment by the latter. However, he said that such a supply was not on a massive scale.

Threads is not a direct threat to Lemmy and never will be. Neither Fedverse. The whole point is that it’s like in the old days, decentralized. You don’t like one server? You go to another. Or you make your own. And big communities will always exist that will want to fuck with whoever opposes basic standards. Just like what happened with Spez/Reddit

[-] exapsy@sh.itjust.works 62 points 11 months ago

Then advertise and market lemmy. Not by literally going on the street with cart boards “use lemmy Plox”, like even sending a link from Lemmy makes Someone question “why everybody is into Lemmy lately? What is it?

That’s how I found out about Reddit anyways. Don’t underestimate word of mouth.

Yep. Especially after the training it’s like “yeah man I did it”.

Also, it’s all about consistency. Perfectionism is the enemy of consistency. Don’t be a perfectionist. Just be consistent and soon you’ll see results.

Like I see some people who just started working out and do as many push-ups or any other excercise with as many reps as they possibly can and after they’re exhausted.

That’s wrong. These people think that if you don’t do 100 pushups first day you’re a failure.

No, do even one push up. It’s more that 0. Then do 2, then 5, then 10, then 5 again coz you don’t feel like it today.

Like don’t starve for perfectionism. Just be consistent and you’ll actually get to enjoy working out. It’s a great way to clear your mind, have a healthy body, build muscles, better body chemistry and less diseases etc. Be consistent, not perfect. And avoid guys who make you feel you’re not doing enough. These guys will make you feel like every exercise should be perfect or with the highest reps possible or smth.
