The dogs are scared, and the escalator is legitimately dangerous to furry animals with long toenails, so in this case everyone wins. The safest option is also the cutest.

America is just used to banning things instead of holding the public accountable.
IE: it's much easier to ban dogs from a store or gathering place than kick someone out for not having a trained dog that knows to shit outside, or god forbid, expect someone to clean up properly if their dog has an accident, and then you get angry Karens and Chuds screaming at you while holding their phones up recording the whole thing, which then goes viral and the company's brand-name suddenly becomes associated with hating dogs or something.
This is such a bigger problem than America. Our "leadership" is threatening the entire world's health and safety. I am literally begging other countries to take this seriously, this is a spreading problem (and I don't just mean the avian flu) this algorithmic destabilization of intellectual democracy is powered by international funding and if it doesn't kill you directly, it will indirectly as something like the bird flu mutates and makes Covid look like the sniffles.
Fight America, but also fight for your own sovereignty and get money out of politics and make your leadership understand it's a matter of life and death.
When the corporations start dividing your population and guaranteeing their own interests over democracy, look at what happened to us and learn from it. It doesn't stop here.
You're right, and what you need to understand is that the reason half of our idiots voted for an idiot is because we allowed corporations to atomize society so people didn't mix anymore, we don't have shared perspectives of the world anymore, everyone gets their information about literally everything algorithmically. This atomization of society is what took down the USA and it's coming for you next if it's not already happening wherever you are.
Almost every American just wants to stay home and play video games, we didn't want any of this. We wanted healthcare.
it's okay guys! The NRA said they were here to prevent this sort of thing!
We're in goooood hands!
You have just spent too much time talking to the chronically online individuals or whatever the term is.|
I have, and I know it, and those are who I am speaking to the most because that's who are here in sites like this in the most numbers. I am here trying to rally people, even if it's out of spite and anger and offense, to stay involved.
The last presidential election we had has had some of the highest voter participation and youth participation in history, and they still voted for Trump, so the problem isn't exterior, it's coming from inside the house, and as long as we're lamenting and feeling like shit about it, we're falling into their trap.
Except talking to people I don’t agree with is exactly what I do. I am doing it to you now! Think about that!
It's literally ALL i wanted out of this.
I'm glad you looked into it, I've been down that road. I am talking about the broader syndrome too, the idea that all people everywhere have such an ingrained need to have societal belonging that we are going to have to start calculating for it, it's a part of human society entirely.
3.– Fuck. That. Fuck the cards I’m dealt. I’ll make my own fucking cards.
Out of everyone on Lemmy I've clashed with, informed, opened up new avenues of mental exploration for, this reaction here tells me that you're feeling it, you get it. I want you on my team when I become emperor. Unfortunately I'll probably lose you on some other uncomfortable truths.
The problem is culturally, they didn’t see a need to fight for it because of apathy.
Thank god we don't have to worry about that happening he- err.... fuck.
There are so many directions the internet could take with a comment like this. Fortunately it's lemmy and everyone is kinda slow.
