Talking to other Danes is so frustrating. They will agree with you on basically every critique and point of contention, then turn around and say they're living in the best country in the world, or that we should be "grateful" or some shit. Can't imagine any other population in the world is as high on its own farts.

To be fair, all their hard work bending down to kiss an assortment of rings and boots take a real toll on their bodies.

That could've been my Cuban-led axis of evil if only the mods weren't so square angery

I've played diplomacy with 48 hour turns and all forms of communication

Damn, that sounds insane! How long did the game last?

I wasn't around back in the day, but that sounds hilarious - and more fun than than the very straight-laced game I joined back then (although tbf I was in my early teens and playing in my second language, definitely out of my depth)

Right, saw you mention that after I commented - for sure that's unhealthy. I used to have a bit of this as a kid (throwing controllers, tantrums) despite not even playing competitive games. I brushed it off as just "getting into it/getting immersed", but really it was holding me back from enjoying gaming - that level of vitriol isn't how anyone acts when they're having fun. So I agree, you're right to be concerned there.

What I will say, though, is that he might act like that when playing Hearthstone - a competitive game that you say he has sunk thousands of dollars into. There might be other games he plays that actually bring him joy. If he builds overheating gamer PCs, he definitely plays other stuff too. I doubt he got into that hobby/leisure activity to play a shitty pay-to-win TCG. So maybe focusing on his issue with Hearthstone, rather than the much more broad and nebulous term "gaming" would be a better way to reach him.

doesn’t bring him happiness

How do you know this?

Ah yes, the democrats - famously harm reduction candidates on the issue of genocide. Did you see that it was revealed recently that the Biden/Harris camp never actually worked for a ceasefire? Yet somehow defending them is "harm reduction". This is so obviously just about you feeling better about genocide because your "team" happens to be the ones in charge.

You literally called active support for fascist genocide "milquetoast". Seems a pretty fair assumption.

How dare they disrespect the time-honored European tradition of racism!?

[–] WideningGyro@hexbear.net 6 points 2 months ago

They used to use racism to drive a wedge between different groups of the proletariat. They still do, but they used to too.

Completely dogmatic way of thinking. I should remind you that you just said "Cuba and Vietnam are not engaged in combat with Nazis and imperialists currently." to the suggestion that materially supporting those socialist countries would be more than/equally as productive materially supporting Russia. So which is it? Are there alternatives, or is "die for a country marginally less fascist than the country they're fighting because Lenin said so"?

I support DPRK, again critically, that doesn't mean I think it's a good idea for young DPRK men to die in this conflict. There are again, thousands of better ways to support socialism than to throw your life away shoulder to shoulder with reactionaries. That's my two cents. Probably going to stop responding to you once you call me a chauvinist again.
