As someone sort of in education and also sort of a parent (both long stories) I liked it when homework came along because I knew what was being worked on and was able to reinforce it at home with examples of everyday tasks that require say, geometry or fractions.

The biggest problem with the instant pot is that it does so much, you might need two for when the first is occupied.

Good thing they're readily available at thrift shops for like $10

I don't get this "Allocate funding" shit. Just do shit that needs to be done then tax me whatever you had to spend? Budgets are guidelines, disaster relief is an emergency.

I'm reporting you for woke time theft

It takes 120 hours of developer time for each pronoun, making the game more expensive for everyone 😔

Its crazy how important a book can be. A whole concept can be understood by a culture almost entirely through the lens of one piece of literature. It makes me think of the post "Sci-fi short stories are very efficient. You read something in 20 minutes and think about it for the rest of your life"

If something isn't immediately understandable it's "badly made". This is true of software too. The term "user friendly" has come to mean "can a clueless new/prospective user pick this up and engage with it immediately?" less "Does this provide the experience existing users want to see?"

"I've never even heard of gwacky molo" - A contestant on the Great British Bakeoff, when tasked with making tortillas

I think hasanabi does very good work and I certainly don't care about him using whatever tobacco product he wants/needs to, but he doesn't need to make it a personality trait. Like what's the stack of zyns behind him about? Come on dude. I know your audience trends older now but you do have some significant number of young and impressionable people watching.
