NWA 16788 the largest known Martian meteorite ever discovered on Earth.

This colorized image was captured by NASA’s Psyche spacecraft on May 3, 2026, from about 3 million miles (4.8 million km) away as it approached Mars for a gravity assist. Psyche will pass roughly 2,800 miles (4,500 km) above Mars on May 15, using the planet’s gravity to reshape its trajectory toward asteroid 16 Psyche. The glowing crescent is sunlight reflected from Mars’ dayside and scattered through its dusty atmosphere.

This colour comes from the bark’s natural structure and chemistry, including compounds such as tannins that help protect the tree from pests, fungi, and environmental stress. The bark also peels in thin layers as it grows, which can make it harder for mosses, lichens, and other organisms to firmly establish on the surface.

Japan’s Kaguya (SELENE) orbiter confirmed the existence of a massive underground cave, or lava tube, on the Moon in 2017, following its initial discovery of a vertical pit (skylight) in 2009. Located in the Marius Hills region, the cave is roughly 50 km (31 miles) long and 100 meters wide, offering potential shelter for future lunar bases
