So I guess my theory has been proven right, with fragile moderating and even more fragile user interaction. The Fediverse is absolutely no better than Reddit and seems to be a platform just for programmers, nerds and a small pocket of refugees from other social media branches.

I hate feeling like I'm right, but I am.

Seems like you're no better because you're just shit stirring for the sake of shit-stirring. Did you have to come out of the woodwork to be a hypocrite?

Like, a majority of my direct interactions with some users from all across the Fediverse and not just Lemmy have been annoying. The kind of nuisance where I feel like I absolutely want to maim the person who bothered responding to me.

At least with Reddit, I know I can expect it because it's a wider audience and that's part of it's reputation. With the Fediverse, for a considerably smaller pool of people in comparison that desire more friendlier engagements because of wanting an alternative, they certainly have proven to be the biggest jackasses of the bunch.

Which makes me think that there's really no hope for the Fediverse in general to be as big as the opposition. Because once people see that there's virtually no difference between where they've been from where they are, it almost defeats the purpose of having switched at all.

And that's pretty much where I'm sitting currently.

And nothing will be done anyways, sooooo...

Double-Negatives sound pointlessly made up. The more I look into about them, the more I just think how pointless it is.

Same. Every four years, I fight within myself on whether I should bother to vote. I'm an Independent voter and I base my decision by analyzing the political parties across the scope while realizing the reality of the world we're living in alongside it.

And it gets tiring of the same old thing. I go and vote not Republican, I see some of the people in my circle vote Republican which makes me consider axing them to spare myself and they the drama of getting political. I get disparagingly cynical towards the American populace for their collective decision making or lack thereof considering we're pitted again in this mess that'll unfold in under a month.

I look at the ballots before making my predetermined choices - D, R, D, R, G, I in a blue moon, D, R like everywhere. Maybe I could've written someone in, maybe, but what good does that do except win meaningless brownie points?

Looking forward to another 4 years I'll have a hard time remembering because of my mental efforts to block out the enormous amount of bullshit yet to come. Just like the last time between 2016 - 2021.

Like isn't that probable cause saying that you did something?

Yet will do nothing about their problems.

America is a country that leans so hard on the system of karma to do their bidding. The same kind of people that pray to a God they think the majority, including the politicians, are to behold themselves to.

The CEO shooting is just simply a one and a millionth chance of happening when it should've been a thing a long time ago. Yes, there had been instances of people taking their actions out on crooked management and maybe a ranking member of the corporate hierarchy. But not enough CEOs get their comeuppance.

I don't hold much hope for Americans to do much for themselves. They're willing to lose everything and allow themselves to lose everything while letting those that made them lose everything, gain everything.

Dude, what you speak of is just plain silliness. Do you not understand that in the realm of pirating, you take risks just for simply downloading in what the laws say is 'illegal'?

There is no such thing as 'safe' when it comes to downloading except getting a clue or a suspicion about what you're downloading and where it's from.

Again, it is common sense. Pirating is all about risk and reward. Risk, whether you infect your machine or get penalized by your ISP or get fined/jailed for your piracy. Reward, the files you acquire that aren't a blip on the radar of your ISP and doesn't contain malware or viruses.

Polls don't mean shit. The only polls Americans should've given more of a fuck about, were the election ones!

Too fucking late.

Bodycam videos.

I mean, if you think your life is shit? Go watch a handful of police bodycam videos. Look at how many ways people turn their lives upside down. Turning traffic violations into felonies. Multiple felons on the run. Getting shot. And an assortment of other active crimes right before your eyes.

You sometimes just wonder how bad of a life they've made themselves live in, compared to yours.

Whenever someone has to highlight the fact that when they're telling a story from 30 years ago or longer, that they 'didn't have smartphones'. Like yeah, I don't expect someone from 1995 to have such a device and the closest things you've got were PDAs.

I just know it's going to be some old boomer like story that'll bore me.

So you buy a nice two shelf bookcase but it's wobbly and you know it won't hold much. I've recently gotten one and my solution was to put L-brackets on it. After installing about 8 of these brackets at the cojoining parts of the shelving, it is now completely stable and ready for use.

When all of your exes get to happily move on in relationships that aren't you and you get nobody for extended periods of time.

While you're prideful in yourself to know that whatever relationship you get won't feel as tainted as theirs because maybe they're manipulative. The thing about it is that, I've tried being upfront, honest, detailed and everything to get someone with.

And I guess working on yourself and trying to improve aren't exactly attractable qualities.

White guys saying the N word and being gangsta. There is nothing ever cool about a white guy pretending to be ghetto. Yes I'll include Eminem and I don't care if he's been given the pass.

For example, you're cleaning a room, your home or your apartment. And you find it defeating the purpose to dust things and wipe them down because, dust comes back anyways and eventually. It might not be as bad as it was or as bad as it could be, but you'll always end up with dust and cleaning dust is just a grand waste of effort and time.

Like, we'll probably find out that eating boogers actually makes you immune to select illnesses or something crazy like that.

I think people who are into crafts. They have all of these yarns, construction papers, various tools and stuff. All so that they can say that they have all of these projects in mind that they want to do. But they never do them so they get more crafting stuff and it just eats away storage until their place is practically consumed by it.

It's almost nostalgic, for the wrong reasons. It came upon me a few minutes ago to realize this. They go parallel with eachother that 20 years ago, people had the same exact defeatist reaction when George W Bush got re-elected when people thought he wouldn't.

Now, 20 years later, when people thought Trump wouldn't get elected again, here we are.

When you're in a call and you want to talk to someone or a couple people, but you're in a group with someone you don't particularly care for. So you have to sit there and listen to them overtalk and maybe you don't even like their voice. But you can't mute them or be rude so you have to waste time until they finally leave.

I don't miss dial-up internet, I just don't. I don't even like the sound because it's just digital screeches and it's a sound that makes me cringe a little upon hearing it. Because I remember the times when I'd be listening to music with headphones with volume high and then that fucking digital screech just blares into my ears.

I don't miss waiting 30 minutes to load a page. I don't miss a bit of it.
