The Young Ones is a classic for me for some good old Thatcher bashing now and again. Doesn't really do much critiquing of capitalism in general but it's well worth a watch.
Exactly all the hype started after the game released and people banged on about how fucking amazing it is. Nearly 200hrs later and I concur.
Am I remembering right where William and Kate tried to visit somewhere with one of these bullshit tours and were told to fuck off pretty much?
~~Dependable~~ Exploitable
Also you reset your taste buds and come to realise how greasy and sugary everything is that you don't make yourself or eat out at a nice place.
Wow that was definitely an enlightening read on the etymology, so the word was fucked from the get go haha..
Sean O’Conaill (1976) - 'I would not suggest such a thing were it not for the Whatabouts. These are the people who answer every condemnation of the Provisional I.R.A. with an argument to prove the greater immorality of the “enemy”, and therefore the justice of the Provisionals’ cause: “What about Bloody Sunday, internment, torture, force feeding, army intimidation?”. '
Another casualty of the American market.
I know it gets used like shit but do you think there's any utility in the term 'whataboutism' if the definition is strict? Like I always understood it to be pointing out ludicrous pontificating about things that'll never happen. Obviously that's not how it's used at all in reality and your description is much more apt.
When you say "no room to make business." That's where I think the fundamental disagreement is rooted. Socialism is inherently built on the idea that what you are building in a capitalist system is exploiting labour. The people you bring in should have ownership of the company too in a socialist system, not the state. What you're describing is a communist dictatorship. State programs should be run by the state just as they are in most countries now. You certainly don't want companies running your government.
Yeah that or distant relatives
This reads like an ad straight from the 60s lol
I worked with a bunch of Roma on the hop farm and they were honestly the best people I've ever worked with. There was a really strong culture of sharing food and Jan found me a banger of a VW Passat for only £500. Jan would disappear off into the woods every lunch and forage tons of cob nuts and apples and we'd all chow down together. Farm owner treated them like shit though which was fucking typical.
