Technically the American monsters don't have 500ml, just to add some extra confusion to the mix lol. The cans are 16oz, which seems to be around 473ml. The rest of the world gets more Monster!

I made the noodles with the 6 Monsters, as suggested for the American substitution in step 1; the energy I'm feeling is incredible!

I was gonna reply with results from matrixrooms.info, but as it turns out, that gave nothing too. Either all the rooms are private, or it really is a desert out there for tf furs on Matrix lol.

I suppose it is a woefully underutilized glyph, isn't it? I consider it very important, and make sure to check any typefaces I download, to ensure it's designed before using them in creative projects. While it didn't become mainstream, I love letting people know it exists through writing when an opportunity arises.

Exactly, they're usually pretty easy to add if you want to. I totally understand most folks don't talk so formally when in informal settings, but the em dash thing is hardly the smoking gun paranoid people want it to be. A lot of the "tells" by themselves are just punching at competent writers; it's the same thing that happens to visual artists, or musicians, or anything else creative. You can try and find several tells at once—and sometimes you do—but it tends to boil down to glorified witch hunting, rather than something of substance. People want desperately to be able to just know something is AI generated on vibes alone. It's not always going to be that easy, and most aren't the sleuths they believe they are.

It depends on the keyboard, and the software. I'm using HeliBoard on my phone right now, and all I have to do to make an em dash is hold the dash key—that's it. It's actually quite trivial to add em dashes in various cases, and I wish folks wouldn't pretend otherwise.

I also make use of other characters, like my beloved interrobang. I actually have that pinned to my clipboard, so I can paste it when it's appropriate.

"You care about writing enough to use special characters‽"

"Yes."

It was actually my bra's trap, the trap that turns you into a bra. Easy to make that mistake.

You're welcome, but you still gotta edit the source link in your comment!

Please don't directly link to X/Twitter, and instead use XCancel, an alternative front end. You can directly replace X with Xcancel in any URL from there and it will work.

The solution is actually to become a bird, as their tongues do not perceive that sort of spice.

A couple months ago I posted about hitting 100k gestures here, if you're interested in reading more about the data collection project. If you're already familiar, this is an update to say I met my original long term goal, and am continuing my journey to be a walking dataset for the project. I'll see you in like, October for 500k gestures if I actually make it there; I'm projected to at the rate I'm going.

Interesting updates since I last posted:

Eclectic recently did an interview on Fireside Fedi (PeerTube) about the project, if you're interested in listening to more about the process.

Heliboard 4.0 is close to officially releasing, and has beta releases out if you want to check it out early. It has a number of new features, though the big change for gesture stuff coming is the option to do passive gathering, which can be enabled on a per-app basis, and entries manually reviewable before submission.

Page 2Digital drawing for the second page of references for Foxfire, an anthro fox. He's a 30s male red fox toon character. This page is dedicated to writing the character, and starts with a full body of him happy and holding a pencil. Silly, simple, spontaneous, wants to tell jokes, no deep backstory, not a jerk. Another image shows a typewriter with Foxfire printed within the margins, which mentions he has linguistic and spatial smarts; they are important for writing him. Another full body image of him wearing a polo and shorts stands by a whiteboard with a large mathematical descriptor written. It talks about how he's not a genius and shouldn't be written that way. A fourth image of him laughing while pressing his paws together in a lab coat and standing next to an "orphan-inator" mentions his moral compass. Basically he's a goodie two-shoes and shouldn't be written like an evil person. A fifth section has two drawing of Foxfire, which showcase he likes dressing up, despite not wearing clothes by default. The first is him rummaging for clothes in a closet, and a second is him inside of a salmon suit costume, with only a little of his face sticking out of the hole at the head. A sixth section shows a flirty faced Foxfire with lowered eyelids, detailing that flirting is fun to him towards anyone that can obviously consent and wants to. To the right is a illustration of him talking to a cute demonic cloud creature with three eyes and horns, asking them what they're doing later. A sixth section talks about the Toon Force, and how Foxfire can use it. He's peeking through a wall (the text box) and popping out of the other side despite that being impossible. He looks at Kate, an tired anthro cat in pajamas, and tells her he's having a long day. She is a bit bewildered, and pointing at him. A SEVENTH section mentions that Foxfire can be captured (until it'd be funny to escape), and has him behind bars. The top of the cage has turned to a text box which says "just me, my cell, and I today huh?" An EIGHTH section has a three panel comic with an evil snake pointing a laser at Foxfire. Foxfire pulls a rope while saying the snake's monologue struck a chord. The next panel is destroyed and has a broken piano on top of the snake, where Foxfire says "I didn't say it was a good one." The final panel is the guy getting back up, furious, with more lasers pointed at him, while Foxfire breaks the 4th wall and says "I should probably go now." The text for it is about his powers not actually being able to hurt anyone badly, and the cycle of setup, punchline, revenge, and how it can be changed as desired. A NINTH section shows a Foxfire shaped cracked hole with the word "ow" in the middle, saying that strong attacks turn into Toon Force defense. A TENTH section shows Foxfire very dizzy and seeing stars, saying "wow, that was a lot to cover!" The ELEVENTH and final section shows Foxfire with several model rules broken, making a peace sign and sticking his tongue out. He says "now that you know the rules, you can break them for fun instead of by accident!"

Alt Text for page 1 (overflow error).Digital drawing for the first page of references for Foxfire, an anthro fox. He's a 30s male red fox toon character. The first set of images are three full bodies: full frontal with arms and legs spread out, full back in the same pose, but with no tail, and a full profile in a different pose, which extends the arms in front and behind him. The next section is six drawn heads with different emotions (happy, confused, sad, shocked, flirty, and anger, with a note that Foxfire never reacts with anger or malice). Below that is a section on height, with three heads stacked on top of each other like a totem pole (happy, determined, a more relaxed flirty) compared to a full body 3/4 of Foxfire next to a human silhouette. Foxfire is just under 5' at the head, and is three heads tall, with each section being about equal size. He's also measuring his tail, which is the size of his body. Next to that is him laying down and showing his toe beans, which have three pink toes. The last section is shortcuts, which has an image of Foxfire shocked and tearing up a little as an electric razor shaves his bit of hair off, showing the pink skin below. There's multiple sections of don'ts, which show off-model examples of his head, hand paws, legs, and hair direction relative to his muzzle. There's also an image of Foxfire sticking out from behind a bell, saying that he has a slight bell shape to his head, and that he likes to show off his tail. The last image is his arm holding a box which states lines for his paws and tail aren't exact, and a couple of lines are fine.

I've been chipping away at this every day for the last 2.5 weeks or so, and now I'm finally satisfied with the guide I've sketched out for my sona. I wanted to make something like this for a while, but never felt compelled until joining Art Fight this month.

I also want to make one of these for one other character I'm attached to (Kate, the cat on the second page), but I genuinely don't think I'll have the time before July 1st. Either way, I am genuinely surprised and quite proud of drawing all of this out!

For those involved in Art Fight this year, I'm on Team Comedy. I have no idea who I'm attacking, so please feel free to leave a shout if you want me to check out your characters: https://artfight.net/~Foxfire-

In case someone unfamiliar finds this post, in March, HeliBoard began its project to create a FOSS gesture library. This is the feature which allows users to swipe their fingers across an on screen keyboard, in order to produce words. Currently—if you are using this feature at all—you are utilizing a proprietary library, such as from Google.

Right now, it's in the collection phase, as this will need a mountain of user data to analyze before anything substantial can happen. This phase is planned to last until several months from now, and the more people send in words, the better!

Info on the project: Video (PeerTube) | Text Tutorial

Maybe seeing someone who's serious about sending in data will inspire others to send some too. Here's hoping, anyway! I've been doing a fair bit, but a handful of people doing a lot less would easily exceed my output. Ape together...strong!

Looks like they're writing something, I wonder what it could be?

Here's a friend and bedside buddy I've had for close to two years now. They're so soft and cuddly, and are almost half the length of my bed! I really need to start taking pictures of my plushies again; it's been a while since I have.

Happy I love free software day! It snuck up on me while I was doing other projects, but here's a silly drawing I made today in Krita!

There are so many incredible projects out there which help countless people be empowered in their computing. Many thanks to all of the developers and web hosts, which allow folks like myself to stay away from proprietary and predatory corporations.

I don't have nearly enough characters, but here's several projects I've been using often. Thanks to everyone on the Fediverse (particularly Lemmy, Mastodon, and Peertube for me, as well as apps such as Voyager and Fedilab), KDE (especially Krita and Kdenlive), the mountain of people responsible for several GNU/Linux distros, GrapheneOS, F-Droid, Freesound, Matrix, LibreOffice, instruments using the SFZ standard (especially VCSL keys), and DAWs (LMMS, and Zrythm).

Do you dare venture beyond the veil of the midnight fog? The air won't be the only thing giving you chills tonight if you do!

It's my favorite time of year; lovely weather, Halloween right around the corner, and daylight savings is about to end too. I feel like Kate is becoming a mainstay character for me—I've grown pretty attached over the past year. Anyway, have a great Halloween if you celebrate it!

It's a two way street after all, being a doormat sucks. Try to establish boundaries, ask for help, and say no when you need to.

Another whore eyes drawing because I love these. Keep up the dental hygene!

I came across a doodle that inspired me to draw! This felt super fun to do, and I want to make more of these sketches down the line.

Every so often I see this type of message and it's always irked me. I might be taking them too literally—but just in case—here's a reminder that you don't owe anyone your hobby. Create whatever you want, whenever you feel like, including nothing at all.

Happy 6/21 everyone! Keeping up the tradition of a yearly Esix for the big day.

This is kind borderline for furry_irl, but I think with people memeing about 6/21 a bunch and with how small of a window it is, I'd prefer it here over furry. What are your tag(s)? >:3
