I hear Science of Ultra's mileage minimums touted a lot as good guidelines for being ready for a given distance. I know everyone is different but have you found these to be pretty accurate in your case? I know I've run 50k's (and maybe a 50 miler) on some questionable training before.

Why don't they just institute wave starts 15 minutes apart, first come, first served?

Has anyone worn these? Do they squeak every time you take a step running on normal outdoor surfaces?

Running is a big part of my life, and I'm nowhere near her level. I would imagine I'd be grieving pretty hard if someone told me I couldn't run anymore, even if I were grateful to still be alive.

20km a week isn't nearly enough to finish a marathon safely. You'd likely want closer to 50km a week if you don't want it to be a suckfest. And why no walking? I think your advice is highly specific to a small sample size of runners
