I believe the dev said they used ionic in this instance

On top of that, the Lemmy user base consists mainly of left wing people and tech power users currently. Not a bad thing for me, but it does make me wonder about how effective it will be at attracting a larger user base; I personally think Lemmy needs to simplify/streamline/modernize its default UI/UX and sign up process to something more people are familiar with, but I've gotten a lot of pushback when I bring that up
Still not sure what this is supposed to do based on the site? It's some kind of all-in-one fediverse thing? Doesn't help that they reference a ton of federated services that I've never heard of in the website
Well said! This was far and away the most common complaint while I've been telling folks about Lemmy on Reddit, and I think plopping them right into a familiar, simple design would go a long way. At any rate, it's good to see more UI people get involved since it feels a little neglected among the 3PAs and front ends, in my opinion.
My other main complaint was that people don't get how or where to sign up, and join-lemmy.org is just a bad introduction to the concept of instances. Would love to see that piece of Lemmy improved as well!
Interestingly I quit using Voyager because the scrolling wasn't high frame rate, but maybe that was because I was using it on Firefox? Thunder is smooth for me.
Reddit is 50% screenshots of other social media too, so I don't think that's necessarily a Lemmy problem
Late to the party here but this is exactly what I've been thinking Lemmy needs to attract the less tech-savvy folks who absolutely don't need/want all the hyper specific info and features! Well done!
I know I'll get pushback for this, but I'd like to see something like this become the default so new people don't get scared away because it's "too complicated" and then the current one become hosted under a subdomain for all the techie folks who like the control/info.
Hasn't the Lemmy dev been working on it for like 3 years straight regardless of how many people were using it? Now that active users are at an all time high it seems unlikely that he would just drop it
The judge is just saying that what he was found liable for could be construed as rape as the word is commonly used even if it's not legally. Regardless of that, this article also makes the distinction that he is not convicted of anything due to it being a civil trial and not a criminal one. Saying he is a convicted rapist is still not correct.
Unread messages count and not being able to tap on the community from the compact view are awesome! Great release!
Anyone else's cache for this app get big suuuuper fast? That is my final gripe. Using it for a few days will get up to like 600mb so I clear it often.
This is absolutely not true... The death penalty is not on the table for any of the charges against Trump. The only charges in the US that carry the possibility of the death penalty are: murder, treason, genocide, or kidnapping of certain politicians. He has NOT be charged with anything near that.
What? He hasn't been charged with sedition either.
