“Gender transition procedures are the lobotomy of our generation,” Crenshaw said.

They should study whatever social media algorithm this freak is addicted to if they want to actually learn something about lobotomies in the modern day.

Consider using Tesseract so you can have drop down menu access to archive sites for post links.

Every name for these things is goofy as hell. Woodcock. Timberdoodle. Mudbat. Labrador twister.

At any point while typing this comment you could have realized you were talking about an 11 year old child killed in a genocide and instead simply stopped. In fact, it’s not too late to delete it!

I think people have the right to identify however they please, and someone else's judgment of it is irrelevant at best.

In that case it was very kind of you to direct a similar level of scrutiny to the people in this thread claiming that the only reason bigotry exists is because the bigots are secretly all turned on by it.

I have no idea of the sexuality of whoever it is you're talking about.

Did you miss the subject of this entire post?

No, but that’s clearly the position you need me to have for some reason. Could you explain what you feel is compatible with the concept of identifying as straight while being sexually aroused by expressions of gay sexuality?

It’s kinda funny that there was none of this “sexuality categories don’t real” in this post until a queer person suggested something might have been unintentionally offensive.

Someone is very mad all their posts kept getting naughty notes!

I always wonder if the people silently downvoting helpful comments like that know their downvotes are technically public, like anything you post on lemmy, if you’re using the right tool to look at a post.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to do callouts over it or even block people over a single downvote; god knows I fat finger upvotes all the time, and the only reason I don’t do the same for downvotes is Blahaj has them turned off. But boy does it validate my blocking instincts when I peek and it’s someone I’ve already blocked.

It’s because watching a bunch of food water swirl around for half an hour is gross.

I think if you’re a dude getting a boner over dudes kissing after you specifically chose to watch that (as in the OP) and call yourself straight you’re doing some Olympic level mental gymnastics 🤷‍♂️

I get that you probably just didn’t think about the implications here, but this would mean there were no bigoted straight people.

That was simply because he was a pervert! He would never spy on behalf of the state.

Link has resources for both online and in person tax prep, depending on your preference.

This was the first year I’d heard of being able to get this done for free at the library! I plan on getting mine done through them this year.

The whole article is worth reading, but to report rent gouging to the CA attorney general:

Fill out this form at the state attorney general’s website. The form isn’t anonymous; it asks for the information of the person reporting. There’s also a hotline you can call: 1 (800) 952-5225.

I got this email from the NHM:

For Our Community

We are holding all of you in our hearts during this devastating time for Los Angeles.

Based on the information we have now, we are pleased to offer free general admission at the Natural History Museum and La Brea Tar Pits & Museum through Friday, January 17. We hope our museums can serve as spaces of respite, offering comfort and connection with our natural and cultural worlds, while also providing enjoyable and engaging indoor experiences.

Please see our NHM and La Brea Tar Pits websites for more information and how to plan a visit.

In the wake of these devastating fires, we understand that many Los Angeles children are unable to attend school. In addition to the free educational experiences at our museums, we have collaborated with L.A. County Parks & Recreation to bring our Mobile Museums to community parks that are providing emergency youth camps this coming week. We are also welcoming many students from impacted communities to our museums for field trips.

The health and safety of our staff and visitors remains our top priority. We will continue to assess the situation day by day.
